This is an ink piece from a few years ago. It's a squirrel skull I found when I was living in the sticks in IL. I named it Binky, & it has served as a model many times.

I earnestly think you should consider submitting some of your work as prints for sale at dA. The watermarks would need to be removed, and the bottom text may be too close to the edge to print. However, I think that this is interesting enough to frame and hang on a wall.

Thanks. :D I thought it turned out pretty well at the time. If I was gonna offer prints, the frame wouldn't be on it, so the title on the edge wouldn't be a factor.

You can, if you're creative enough. And since you're a writer, the creativity requirement shouldn't be a problem You just need some training & a ton of practice before you get good at it. I didn't do anything worth a damn until after my first 2,000 drawings or so.
